BOAT TOURS

We organize tours on several types of boats. Several different programs are offered. One of the most popular is called “Orquídea Amazônica” which is possible to do in a regional boat with hammocks or in a launch with cabins and air conditioning. You will visit many exotic places around Manaus. You will set out from Manaus for the Rio Solimões (white water) and return to the Rio Negro (black water) by a small tributary. On the third day you will reach the largest river archipelago in the world, The Arquipélago das Anavilhanas, containing hundreds of islands.
 

 
II.1 – ORQUÍDEA AMAZÔNICA TOUR  (3days, 2nights)

1^st. Day:
- Leave at 9:00 a.m.  from the Floating Docks;
- set out for the Meeting of the Waters;
- see the dolphins (Botos);
- continue on to Janauary Ecological Park (see map, A);
- visit the giant Water Lilies;
- visit the Indian handicraft exposition;
- have lunch on board;
-  navigate to Paricatuba on the Rio Negro (see map, C);
- Piranha Fishing with motorized or paddle canoe;
- have dinner on board;
- Alligator Flashing after dark;
- stay overnight on board in Hammocks;

2^nd. Day:
- have breakfast;
- take jungle walk on Rio Negro to see trees and medicinal plants;
- have lunch on board;
- go up the Rio Negro to a place called Ponta do Araras (see map, D);
- take a canoe ride on the Igarapés;
- have dinner on board;
- go Spear Fishing in the Igapós after dark;
- stay overnight on board in Hammocks;

3^rd. Day:

- have breakfast;
- continue on to the Arquipélago das Anavilhanas;
During the dry season:
- explore the beaches and islands;
- bathe in the river;
During the wet season:
- take a canoe ride into the islands to see native fauna;
- have lunch on board; 
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
  

 
CABIN BOAT TOUR

Fourteen to twenty-two meter launches are available with 2 or 4 double cabins, kitchen, bathroom and leisure area. There is a crew of four: captain, sailor, cook and guide. It is the most comfortable way to navigate in the Amazon and witness all the richness and beauty of nature that this region has to offer.
 

 
III.1 – TOUR APUÍ (2days, 1 night)

1^st. Day:
- leave at 9:00 a.m. from the Floating Docks;
- set out for the Meeting of the Waters;
- see the dolphins (Botos);

- visit the giant Water Lilies;
- visit the Indian handicraft exposition;
- have lunch on board;
- go up the Rio Negro to a place called Paricatuba (see map, C);

- have dinner on board;
- Alligator Flashing after dark;
- stay overnight on board;

2^nd. Day:
- have breakfast;
- take a jungle walk on the Rio Negro to see the rubber tree and medicinal plants ending with a bath at a beautiful waterfall;
- have lunch on board;
- take a canoe ride on the Igarapés and Igapós;
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
 

 
III.2 – TOUR APUÍ II (3days, 2nights)

1^st. and 2^nd. Days (see tour Apuí I)
- after a canoe ride into the Igarapés and Igapós, you will continue up the Rio Negro to a place called Ponta do Araras (see map, D);
- have dinner on board;

3^rd. Day:
- have breakfast;
- take a tour to know local plantations (pineapple, banana, manioc, jerimum, etc.);
- visit to a Manioc House;

III.3 – TOUR APUÍ III (4days, 3nights)

1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd. Day (see tour Apuí II)
- after a lunch you will go to the Arquipélago das Anavilhanas;
- have dinner on board;

4^th. Day:
- have breakfast;
- explore the Arquipélago das Anavilhanas;
In dry season:
- enjoy the beaches, explore the islands and see the Flora and Fauna (orchids, bromeliads, birds, parrots, monkeys), bathe in the river;
In wet season:
- take a ride in the Igapós by canoe;
- have lunch on board;
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
 

 
III.4 – TOUR APUÍ IV (5days, 4 nights)

1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th. Days (see tour Apuí III)
- after lunch, you will go visit the Terra-Preta Indians (see map, E);
- first ask the chief for permission for a short visit;
- have dinner with the Indians of the Terra-Preta;
- stay overnight on board;

5^th. Day:
- have breakfast;
- learn a little about Indian culture: (workmanship, arms and hunting methods, agriculture);
- have lunch on board;
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
 

REGIONAL BOAT

Twelve to eighteen meter traditional regional river boats are available. The boats are two level with a spacious deck. The kitchen and bathroom are located in the stern. The crew consist of three: captain, cook and guide. Meals are served on deck in the open at a large table. The accommodation will be in hammocks which is the preferred mode of sleeping by the local people. All the boats have mosquito nets and protection from the rain.
 

IV.1 –TOUR PAU-ROSA I (2days, 1night)

1^st. day:

IV.2 – TOUR PAU-ROSA II (3days, 2nights)

1^st. and 2^nd. Days (see tour Pau-Rosa I)
- after lunch you will go up the Rio Negro to Ponta do Araras (see map, D);
- have dinner on board;
- after dark go Spear Fishing in the Igapós;
- stay overnight on board;

3^rd. Day:
- have breakfast;
- take a jungle walk to see native agriculture;
- visit to a Manioc House;
- have lunch on board;
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
 

IV.3 – TOUR PAU-ROSA III (4days, 3nights)

1^st. 2^nd. And 3^rd. Days (see tour Pau-Rosa II)

- after lunch you will continue up the Rio Negro;
Dry season:
- you will go set up camp at a suitable place in the jungle or construct Tapiri;
- barbecue in the camp;
- sleep in the jungle under the trees;
Rainy season:
- canoe ride in the Igapós and Igarapés to feel the world of the microorganism and fishes;
- have dinner on board;
- free time to listen the sounds of the forest;
- stay overnight on board;

4^th. Day:
- have a regional breakfast;
- learn survival strategies: recognize poisonous fruits, the use of roots and vines, collect palm heart;
- prepare a “jungle lunch” using the materials collect (with a little help from the boat’s provisions);
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
 

IV.4 –TOUR PAU-ROSA IV (5days, 4nights)

1^st. 2^nd. 3^rd. And 4^th. Days (see tour Pau-Rosa III)

- after lunch, go visit the Terra-Preta Indians (see map, E);
- have dinner on board;
- stay overnight on board;

5^th. Day:
- have breakfast;
- first, ask the chief permission to enter the village;
- a little explanation of the Indian culture (workmanship, arms and hunting methods, agriculture);
- lunch on board;
- return to Manaus at 5:00 p.m.
