ROBINSON
ISLAND

Come spend a few days on a island paradise reminiscent
of that of Robinson Crusoe in the middle of the Amazon
Jungle. It is located in the Arquipélago
das Anavilhanas (an ecological reserve) in the Rio
Negro, a few hours from Manaus. Relax in the
shade of palm trees on a white sand beach. You may transform
yourself, for a few days, into Robinson Crusoe and Friday.
The Arquipélago
das Anavilhanas is the largest fluvial archipelago
in the world. It’s many long narrow island transform
the Rio
Negro into a labyrinth of lakes, channels and
small creeks.

All of the
islands are uninhabited because the water comes up to
the top of the trees in the rainy season. During the
dry season, from September to December, wide sandy beaches
mark the borders of the island.
